Our Story
Founded by Damla Saydam as a testament to her family roots, Qirqit Studio is devoted to the ancient art of weaving and the languge of symbols. Rooted in Bergama and born from a deep respect for craft and heritage, the studio explores how threads, hands and stories interwine across time. The name Qirqit comes from the kirkit, a traditional tool used by Anatolian weavers to tighten the threads on the loom.
Our Values
Heritage
We honor the deep-rooted traditions of Anatolian weaving, preserving the knowledge and stories passed down through generations.
Craftswomanship
Every piece is created by skilled hands, where patience and care transform natural fibers into works of art.
Connection
We believe in weaving relationships - between artisans, materials, pieces, and people - building a community united by shared history and respect.
Sustainability
We prioritize natural materials and ethical production to protect the environment and support local communities.
βAt Qirqit Studio, we celebrate craftswomanship, cultural heritage and unique storytelling woven into every piece by collaborating with master weavers in and around Bergama who carry the generations of knowledge in their hands. β
